  About to Pop
Things around here are starting to get quite exciting.

There are a number of people in my life who are about to have their first babies. My sister is due any second (on Oct. 3rd if you want the actual date) and she lives in Tennessee, which is far, and I want to be there, but I know I won't be able to for a while, and I am getting pretty excited! This will be my first niece or nephew. Yea!

Also, we have some friends who are due on Oct. 3rd who live a bit closer and we should be able to go see that baby a little sooner! And, some other friends who are due Nov. 3rd and we can hardly wait to meet that baby either! So many babies, so little time, or something like that.

I have had a number of wedding cakes lately, like last weekend, which is good, but makes me tired.

I got called for jury duty for the U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids for the next three months if they pick me. I have to go in to see if I get chosen on the 29th of this week for a trial starting on Oct. 3rd. What is it with that date? I hope that they don't think that I would make a good juror because that will put quite a kink in my plans to see all these babies next month.

I have no idea if we will be able to be here for Homecoming this year with all of this going on. We may or may not be in Tennessee. I am looking forward to Homecoming, so I am hoping that we end up going earlier or later to Tennessee, but not then.

Well, anyhoo, you get the idea. I just thought that you all might like to know that, even if you really didn't.

Comments:
It is definitely going to be odd to have the next generation so well-represented in the local social circle. I hope all these kids are cute, at least. Gabriel seemed to be, but I only saw him for about 15 seconds ere I was shooed out of the room.

If you're not around for Homecoming, do you plan on leaving your place open, at least? And maybe a case or two of beer in the fridge?

Here's hoping the justice system decides it can get by without you.

Well, it looks like we will probably be home over Homecoming so you don't have to worry about begin able to get in. I don't know about the beer, you will have to ask Mark about that one.

Who is Gabriel? I am out of the loop or something.

It turns out that the justice system decided that they couldn't live without me this time. I got picked. It turns out that it will be a good thing. I can only be picked once in the three months that I am up for jury duty and this trial should be over by next Tuesday, so really it should work out quite well.

I love your title. :-) It made me laugh out loud.

My goodness, that's a lot of babies.
